More Amusing Stuff, Some Annoying (Gov't) Stuff and Some New Photos From The New Camera (Since, if you remember,I have mislaid the old one somewhere)

I got this forwarded to me by Nick's dad again:
Fun with the ACLU
As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.
Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.
Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's Not the Christian Way ya know?)
ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York, NY 10004
Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions...
So spend 37 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone.
Also tell them that there is no such thing as a Holiday Tree. . . .
(Or a Chanukah bush, for that matter - hey, I'm a nice Jewish kid who grew up surrounded by friends with CHRISTMAS trees, and I'M certainly not upset - because, THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE.... please note my colourful use of Blue, White, Yellow, Black (well, Grey, as the Black wouldn't show up on the black background) and Green to include the Chanukah and Kwanza celebrators in this...)
On another (Gov't) note...
More on this President superceding a legally constituted intelligence court with his own brand of justice...
So, he admits he made an end run around the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 to authorise secret wiretaps at least 30 times since the 9/11 attacks. He insists these extraordinay measures were necessary to protect American lives, and, is blaming The Media for endangering the nation by leaking the information...
The 1978 Act was carefully constructed to avoid presidental overreaching, whicle protecting the need, which all Americans respect, to track down terrorists. The intelligence court, established under the act, routinely permits search warrants and wiretaps sufficient to any occasion the president might imagine.
So, here's the part that really got me - his wife - oops, SO sorry, did I say that? I mean Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice suggested that this process was 'too cumbersome'. This is a chilling reminder of this administrations disregard for the democratic processes it purports to be defending abroad. Hey, why does he even care if that Patriot Act is entended/continued - he just does what he wants anyway...
(I thank The Tennessean for this info.)
The photos are from the new camera. (Whilst cleaning this blog, I inadvertantly deleted some of the pix, so they may repeat in a later blog.)
Later.
